Green onions

aka scallions or spring onions


Snip off the roots, the rest is edible. The greens are milder than the bottom white section. When cooking them, add the white part to the pan first and toss the greens in at the very end of cooking. Use the sliced greens to add flavor to green salads, potato salads, and egg salads. Garnish soups and noodle dishes. Use them in stir fries, salsa, and chutneys
